Stokes Croft China to Install Kiln with Historic Provenance in Jamaica Street.

December 31, 2010

Stokes Croft China will increas capacityearly in 2011. Three phase power supply was installed in December, allowing the instalation of larger kilns. This will allow larger objects to be fired, and will make full scale production possible.

The kiln that we have managed to obtain was the last kiln that was owned by Hans Coper, before his untimely death in 1981 of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Heavy lifting gear will be required to move it from its present home near Frome to Jamaica Street.
The kiln was custom built to Coper’s specification in 1968, but was apparently little used due to illness.

Below is an image of on of Hans’ vases.
